Student Leadership Institute

LVA wants more students working in our programs. We want this to happen everywhere there is an LVA program. Students and staff will come to this workshop together, as a team. They will see what it takes to make student involvement a success. We will give hands-on tools to all who come.

Teams were chosen to attend the Student Leadership Institute by completing an application process that showed why they want to participate and how they will work on student involvement in their affiliate. A six member selection team composed of National Student Advisory Board members, Institute Leadership and LVA staff reviewed the applications. Click here to see a list of selected teams.

The Institute will be led by nationally known student involvement leaders, Beth Broadway and Elaine Williams Randall. Beth has recently co-authored a set of manuals on student involvement. Elaine has worked as a student staff member since 1986, and both women have led many workshops on student issues and student involvement in literacy programs.
