This session outlines a process to assist volunteer literacy organizations incorporate program evaluation into the life of their program. This process was developed and implemented by the What Works Literacy Partnership (WWLP) a national network of twelve adult literacy programs funded by the Lila Wallace-Readers Digest Fund for the past three years. Hear how Partnership members learned to incorporate program evaluation into the programs from the perspective of the senior WWLP administrator, the Program Evaluator, and two LVA program directors. Learn how to begin dialogue, build staff support, and create a community of researchers. LVA program directors will address how thinly-staffed programs can find the time and resources to add this responsibility to their already impossible workloads. Implications for replicating this process will also be reviewed. Program Managers seeking accreditation will find this session very informative.
