ProLiteracy Names New Rep.
Rebecca Raymond to promote adult literacy in North Central region

ProLiteracy Worldwide has named Rebecca Raymond to work on behalf of its U.S. programs division, ProLiteracy America, in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. ProLiteracy is the largest organization of community-based adult literacy programs in the world.
As ProLiteracy’s North Central regional representative, Raymond will build relationships between ProLiteracy America and its affiliate network and state and regional adult literacy groups. She will represent the organization at literacy-related state/regional conferences and events.
Raymond has worked in the adult literacy field for 10 years. She began her career as an Americorps VISTA volunteer in Lake Charles, La., then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she taught and provided training to volunteers in public library, city college, and homeless shelter literacy programs. Raymond served as program director at Literacy Works, a Chicago adult literacy organization, after returning to the Midwest three years ago. She currently directs the Adult Learners Programs and Services at the Chicago-based Jane Addams Resource Corp.
