Notebook: Resources for the Adult Educator. Sample available below.
November 6, 2007
Syracuse, NY
The U.S. programs division of ProLiteracy Worldwide, the largest organization of adult basic education and literacy programs in the world, today released the first issue of its newest publication for teachers and tutors working with adult literacy learners.
Notebook, a resource for adult educators available only to members of ProLiteracy America, includes information and actual lessons that teachers and volunteer tutors can use immediately in their literacy and English-as-a-second-language classes. Each lesson provides the related research and theory, offers additional ideas for related activities, and includes Web sites that instructors may find helpful. Members also can take advantage of special online resources linked to each issue of Notebook, located in the Members Only section of the ProLiteracy Web site.
Teachers and tutors are encouraged to submit effective teaching ideas that work for them and that they'd like to share with Notebook readers. To discuss an idea for an article, contact Notebook editor, Linda Church, at:
lchurch@proliteracy.org. Notebook will be published three times a year.
If you would like to become a ProLiteracy America member so that you receive future issues of Notebook, call 1-800-448-8878 or go to ProLiteracy membership.
