Technology and ABE � The Lifelong Learning Network (LLN) will sponsor a 1999 Winter Institute on Technology and Adult Basic Education: The Changing Role of Teachers Jan. 27-29 at the Renaissance Hotel-Downtown in Atlanta (immediately following the International Conference on Women and Literacy at the same hotel; RLP, July 9, p. 110). The institute is intended for practitioners, administrators, researchers and policymakers. It will explore changes in teaching methods, student assessments and program evaluations dictated by the adoption of technology. Cosponsors include the Center for the Study of Adult Literacy at Georgia State University. The registration fee is $235.
